Tonight my son scraped his knee. Remarkably, this is literally one of the first "boo-boo's" that we have had since his birth. He has had immunizations, but not really a scratch, scrape, or break of his skin.
I was amazed at watching him with his "boo-boo"
I am not used to the nonchalant way that he carried on with his scratch. My daughter has conditioned me to expect tears, limping of the leg with the affected scratch, drama, at times screaming, several applications of band aids (which then brings more drama when they need to be removed), and the occasional hysterics. Believe me, I am NOT exaggerating here.
My boy, completly befuzzeled me. He kept playing. He was even crawling around on his sore knee! We had to have bath time later, and I was really dreading getting him into the bath due to his scratch. He completly surprised me! He climbed right on in and flopped on his belly and began kicking and splashing. Really! NO DRAMA. I even put medicine on his knee later..you know because this is the routine I have become accustomed to for the last 7 years. I even found two non barbie band aids to put on his knee. His reaction--Ehh. He acted like I was crazy.
I have a lot to learn in the world of Boy.
